In house development
Having always been a bit geeky, I've enjoyed creating various different websites over the years for different tasks and projects.  When we first opened Ocean Optometry in 2013 it was a great excuse to re-visit this and over the years I developed a couple of websites as Ocean evolved.

As time went on, and we got busier, the demands on my time meant that it wasn't so feasible to continue to develop our own website, and we handed over the task to a web development company.

The solution they created served the need, but it was a time for another refresh and a great excuse for me to spend a little time on what I find a fun distraction!

Challenge accepted!

Artificial Intelligence

AI this and AI that is all part of the zeitgeist now, it seems like you can't turn anywhere or do anything without hearing the words being incorporated somewhere.  There can be an immediate fear that we will all soon be made redundant. 

My first taste in AI was when I was studying optometry, for my final year project, I investigated artificial neural networks interpreting visual field charts.  It was fascinating.  With all the current news about AI I decided to play with it as part of the creative process in building this website.  With some of the imagery, some of the text was started, inspired, created initially with AI engines.

The conclusion that I came to through the process is that AI doesn't mean we're all going to be replaced by machines, but that AI is yet another tool which can be used to achieve goals and outcomes.
