MOSCOT
Iconic New York eyewear since 1915 — five generations of family-owned heritage, rooted in the original downtown Manhattan optical tradition.
MOSCOT is one of the most recognisable names in independent eyewear, and for good reason. The Lemtosh, the Zelig, and the rest of the classic frames are rooted in the optical tradition of the Lower East Side — vintage shapes that look as right on a photograph from 1958 as they do on the street today. There's a downtown New York character to the brand that no other maker can claim.
Hyman Moscot opened the original shop on the Lower East Side in 1915. Five generations later, the company is still family-owned and run, now carried by over 2,000 stockists worldwide while maintaining its in-house lens lab and neighbourhood optical shop identity. Frames have been worn by figures from Johnny Depp to Woody Allen — but the real appeal is to the wearer who wants a frame with a story, made by people who haven't forgotten what an optical shop is for.
